Do you want to be a Master and think Faster, live Smarter and act Sharper?

THE UNIVERSITY OF AMSTERDAM IS PROUD TO PRESENT THE MASTERS OF MEDIA WEBLOG:

Please check, participate and add to your roll.

The Masters of Media Weblog is a collaborative initiative from the New Media Master students of the University of Amsterdam. We strive to become a recognized authority on what’s going on in the wide world of the web. We observe, review, criticize and co-create on multiple levels in new media. Exploring theories and practices in new media not only help us develop a broader understanding of advancements in technology, it also provides an in-depth perspective of shifts in our culture.

The site offers an open platform for discussion. You are invited to comment on all our posts and thereby keeping us sharp, active and smart.

Besides providing academic insight, this blog aims to be a testing ground for commercializing itself. Our objective is to reach a wide international audience and by doing so generating financial gain. By the end of this academic year (July 2007) we expect to have accumulated enough capital to pay for a three course dinner at one of Amsterdam’s hotspots.

By checking this blog regularly, you will learn from our gains and mistakes in the process of commercializing our site. In return we provide a critical view of the global conversation of the web, helping you to tune into what’s interesting, topical, entertaining, and just plain fun.

Dear regards,

The Masters of Media

Is this good enough for a massive mail launche?

Yea! Especially like the opening and the catchphrase. The commercial part might be something we have to delete if we don’t do the Google adsense though. So the third paragraph might not be necessary, and the text is also strong without it. Nice!

I think it’s fun! Maybe we should not use the red like in the email you forwarded, that way it looks like some sort of spam message…

Isn’t it ordinary spam then? ;) Black and underlined sounds good.

Or just a regular bold? I never ever use anything other than bold in my e-mails. I often send them as text only. I dislike the HTML format. It makes posts look messy and spammish.
