Thanks for the tip, I'll put it on my to-read list :) The whole concept of affect is of course very interesting. Found the Thrift article online here: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.0435-3684.2004.00154.x
It's available through the UvA VPN, or the UvA computers.

Twan, this is for the tutorial Current Themes in New Media.. You might also like Nigel Thrift's article "Intensities of Feeling: Towards a Spatial Politics of Affect" He writes about affect and the urban environment (looking at the artwork of Bill Viola) and I would be really interested to see if it connects with locative media and the thesis you are working on..

Good reading material, especially like the quotes from The Autonomy of Affect on image reception. Was this part of the Onderzoekswerkgroep essay by the way?

holy shit, nice post Mike

interactivity has always been a thorny subject for me. I knew there was a whole host of literature on the subject, everyone disagreeing with one another and I didnt want to touch it with a 10ft pole (I still dont)

So my respect for you on your attempt to tackle the subject :p
